I think I speak for everyone when I say that the Trump jokes need to stop. I really do my best to keep politics out of my posts but this shit has gotten out of hand. Don’t take this as me defending the right or attacking poking fun at politics. I LOVE making fun of government officials. Bush did 9/11? A classic. Kevin from The Office lost 200 lbs and became Ted Cruz? Believable. Malaysian Airlines flight MH370 went missing? Thanks Obama. I pray for Biden to run in 2020 just so they could make more Biden memes.
Those jokes were hilarious because they weren’t overdone. They lived and died when their time came. But as the saying goes “You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain.” Trump jokes are said villain. They were funny at one point but somewhere along the way the media just went overboard and now every comedian and every TV show has retold every Trump joke a hundred times. I get it, Donald Trump is a stupid orange man child who is butt buddies with Vladimir Putin. Could we move on? We got people worshiping shitty comedians like Samantha Bee and John Oliver who lose their shit whenever they hear the word “trump.” These unfunny personalities are being hailed as comedians and it’s ridiculous.
Don’t even get me started on Trevor Noah. That guy should get sentenced to life in prison for falsely identifying himself as a comedian when he is in fact an unfunny dull person with a mediocre Trump impression. I can’t even get through one of the commercials for “The Daily Show” without turning off the TV despite the option to fast forward. I could write an entire post about how much I loath shitty ass Trevor Noah but I digress from the point.
Frankly, it’s not even a political concern. I don’t exactly love President Trump yet I cannot stand these Trump jokes. It’s just an easy cop out joke that guarantees comedians and show writers a laugh. It’s the joke equivalent of Hollywood releasing useless sequels (h). You may not get original or quality content but you’re guaranteed to earn a profit. Comedians are using it as a crutch and it’s hindering the creation of quality content, something I care for deeply. It’s being done so much that every Trump joke has been done and on the rare occasion that I actually hear a good Trump joke I can no longer enjoy it because it’s so over done.
You could shit on him all you want. Tell everyone you think he’s an ignorant ass hole who is dividing the country. You could also think he’s a good president if you want, I couldn’t care less. Love him, hate him, fantasize about him if you want but we as a society can’t support these garbage Trump jokes. We need to come together as a people and draw a line. We need to stop patronizing comedians who use Trump jokes as a crutch to get a quick laugh. It is hindering quality content and creating fake comedians. If we take a stand and stop laughing at played out Trump jokes than people won’t tell a Trump joke unless it’s actually good and than we could start enjoying them once more instead of just putting up with them. Let’s save our laughs for things that are actually funny.
